Ramadan

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. The Islamic calendar has started since 610. The Islamic calendar depends on phases of the moon. We fast during the day from sunrise until sunset. All Muslim in the world must fast in Ramadan. Fasting teaches us the patience, modesty, and how the poor live without food and drinking. Ramadan is a time we fast for the sake of our god.

What do we do in Ramadan?

We fast during the day.

We pray more than usual and ask forgiveness for past sins.

We pray to help ourselves how we do good deeds and avoid the evils.

We read Quran a lot and give charity to the poor people.

When the sun is down, we eat dates with water or butter milk. Also, we eat some food after praying. The food is special in Ramadan. For example, we have soup, gruel, Sambosic, pasta, Cream Carmel, and other kind of food with Vimto juice. In this month, many families meet together for eating the breakfast and spend some times for talking.

The first day after Ramadan we celebrate Eid ul-Fitr. Eid ul-Fitr is the major holiday for Muslims. In Eid ul-Fitr we get up early and wear new clothes and go to Mosque for praying and thank our god. Also, we get together with our families and give children candy or money. We eat cake and some delicious food. At night, there are many activities. For example: fireworks, folklore, and other of activities.

Finally, Ramadan is important for all Muslims, and we feel happy when Ramadan comes because it is special month for us.

I hope you enjoy my post.
